ARTIST STATEMENT

Having studied Interior Design at Middlesex University, I worked as a set designer at London Weekend Television for many years before going freelance.  During this time I designed sets, exhibitions, events and interiors.

Following this I went on to teach Art in secondary education for fifteen years.

Now enjoying creative freedom to produce my own work, in 2015 I became a member of Chalk Gallery in Lewes. The surrounding natural environment is a continuing source of inspiration.

Views of trees from my garden studio are a constant source of fascination, as is the local countryside of Kent and Sussex where I love to walk.

I enjoy using a range of media, in particular working with different print techniques and painting. My work is informed by my experience as a designer and I strive to create harmonious compositions exploring unexpected colour combinations and perspective.
